Check out the new model Motoman Robotics cart the Tri-Rivers/RAMTEC students designed for Motoman Robotics. The new cart on the right will replace the old model on the left.

 

RAMTEC/Tri-Rivers students Tyler Ellis, Jeff Martin, Scott Gould and Zach Caldwell redesigned the robotic training carts based off their experience using the robot. Motoman used their detail drawings, assemblies, solid models and animations to make the carts lighter, more portable and easier to transport between facilities and rooms. Great job RAMTEC students. High school, Adult Ed and College instructors working together to get certified in FANUC Robotics Handling. We are working together to build a team in the Marion area that will help get students and adults ready for the many high paying jobs that require robotics and automation. We are also now collaborating with Cuyahoga Community College and George Bilonkonsky on an NSF grant to offer college credits statewide. Great things are happening in Marion. Read more

RAMTEC Consortium receives $14.99 Million Straight A Grant

RAMTEC Marion will be the central training and industrial certification center for Ohio. Instructors in the consortium will receive training in Marion.

 

The RAMTEC (Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing Technology Education Collaborative) Statewide Advanced Manufacturing STEM/Career Technical Education Consortium, led by Tri-Rivers Career Center, has received $14.99 million dollars through Ohio’s Straight A Fund. This grant will allow Tri-Rivers to partner with 8 additional career centers to expand and continue the vision of RAMTEC in order to address the skills gap by preparing high school and adult students with advanced manufacturing and engineering skills.

 

Tri-Rivers portion of the grant, $3.1 million, will be used for the expansion of RAMTEC as well as renovations related to advanced manufacturing and engineering—building a world class metal fabrication training center, state of the art CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machines/tools, relocating and upgrading the current Precision Machining program, purchasing necessary equipment for the Welding program and updates for the RAMTEC Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering program, according to Superintendent Chuck Speelman. “This grant will benefit high school students, adult education students and will be used to enhance our Incumbent Workers Training programs.” Read more

This school year thousands have toured RAMTEC/TRCC including U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi, candidate for governor Ed FitzGerald, Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, Rep. Dorothy Pelanda, Rep. Jeff McClain; as well as groups such as Marion Industrial Club, Marion Democratic Club, The Marion GOP, Bowling Green International Students class, Yutaka,  Rotary Club, Lions Club, Honda, Whirlpool, Crown Lift, US Yachiyo, Chamber of Commerce members, Mid-Ohio Development Exchange (MODE) and many more!
