RAMTEC Ohio to present in Dallas

RAMTEC Ohio will be presenting “How RAMTEC Ohio Developed an Industrial Training Partnership with Seven Billion Dollar Corporate Partners” in Dallas at the National Career Pathways Network.

The RAMTEC Center in Marion, Ohio, created a training program that developed a collaboration of nine schools and spent three years developing industrial training programs that help engage, recruit and award industrial credentials to high school and college students and adult workers.

Ritch Ramey, RAMTEC Coordinator, said, ” In this presentation our staff/partners will share ways to develop training partnerships and programs. We will also discuss industrial training programs and discounted equipment and software now available to schools, colleges, and adult education providers. Also presenting with Ramey, will be Mark Edington, RAMTEC Instructor; Bob Graff, Yaskawa Motoman, Miamisburg, OH; and Tad Douce, META Solutions, Marion, OH. They present  Thursday, Oct. 29 in Dallas at National Career Pathways Network. The Dallas Convention Center is sold out!

RAMTEC 433D headed to Ohio State Vex Robotics Championship

Tournament Champs Vex 2015RAMTEC Vex Robotics team 433D will be moving on to the Ohio State Vex Robotics Championships March 4th and 5th at the Harding High School Gymnasium.

Team 433D teamed up with two teams from Perry High School to win the robotics tournament. The RAMTEC team consisted of Tri-Rivers Career Center Engineering Technology and Advanced Machining Students. Robotics teams from Polaris Career Center, Marion Harding and Perry were undefeated going into the tournament. North Union won the Design Award and Marion Harding won the Sportsmanship Award. Teams from River Valley, Ridgedale and Benjamin Logan High Schools also competed in the 30 team event. RAMTEC hosted the event to promote Manufacturing Week and the 2,000,000 new skilled manufacturing technicians careers that will need to filled in America over the next five years.

RAMTEC Robotics Camp Set For August in Richland County

Screen Shot 2015-06-29 at 9.19.50 AMAs RAMTEC continues to grow and expand to meet the needs of Ohio, additional Robotics Camps are being scheduled, including one in Richland County for 7th-12th graders at North Central State’s Kehoe Center in Shelby for youth in that area.

The robotics camps develop teams for upcoming regional, stateside and global competition.

The cost of the camp is $30.

Students will receive a t-shirt, snacks, and lunches each day, and possibly a future high-paying career in manufacturing robotics.

A  news conference was held Thursday, June 25 in Richland County at the Area Agency on Aging to announce the new Vex Robotics camp for youth in this area, patterned after the Marion Tri-Rivers/RAMTEC successes. Richland County is modeling its RAMTEC based on successful efforts at the training site at Tri-Rivers Career Center in Marion, Ohio. The robotics program is coming to students at  Pioneer & Technology Center this fall. The classes will be at the North Central State College Shelby Kehoe campus.

“The new RAMTEC Ohio site in Shelby will be a great addition to enhance manufacturing education in North Central Ohio. Students in grades 7-12 and adult students will be able to get the latest industrial training in “state of the art” training facility,” said Ritch Ramey RAMTEC Ohio Coordinator. “The RAMTEC Vex Summer Camp will be  give students the opportunity to see industrial robots and build, program and compete with Vex Robotics equipment.”

Marion County hosts this growing event where around 1200 students from nine states will participate in Robot Mazes, Mini-Sumo contests, Robo Hockey, Bot Ball, and more!
